Everything you need to know about the Winmau Iceland Open!

In the weekend of 19-21 april will the Winmau Iceland Open be held in Mosfellsbær. There will be 3 tournaments, of which the single tournament on Saturday counts for the BDO and WDF Ranking. Read here what you need to know about the weekend of darts in Iceland!

Blind Pairs Tournament
The weekend starts with a pairs tournament that will be drawn to choose who form a pair. This is a tournament for fun. The tournament will be started in a Round Robin. After the groupstage there will be a knockout stage to decide who will lift the trophy! The draw will come out Friday evening around 7pm.

Venue Opens: 5pm
Registration: 5pm-7pm
Tournaments starts: 8pm

Format:
Round Robin: Best of 5 legs
Quarterfinals: Best of 5 legs
Semi-finals: Best of 5 legs
Final: Best of 7 legs


Single tournament
At Saturday 20 April the Winmau Iceland Open will be held. It is a tournament that is ranked as BDO Category D and WDF Level 3. The defending champion Dennis Watt is back again this year, after he won the final 7-5 against Gudjon Hauksson last year! Other favorites for the title are Joseph Doroon, Vitor Charrua, Hallgrimur Egilsson, Pétur Rúðrik Guðmundsson and Þorgeir Guðmundsson. The champion of the women last year, Algina Juknaite won’t be participate this year. So there will be a new winner in the womens competition. The number of participants will be announced on Friday evening.

Pairs tournament
At the last day of the weekend of darts in Iceland will the pairs tournament be held! The mens and the women will play a separate pairs tournament. Göran Eriksson and Dennis Watt won last year the men pairs, while Algina Juknaité and Maria Jóhannesdóttir became the champions at the women pairs. Which pairs will participate this year, will be announced on Sunday!
